Gone but never forgotten. This year's Emmy Awards paid tribute to the many entertainers and TV creators who died over the last year in a heartfelt "In Memoriam" segment. The segment was introduced by Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers, who began by paying tribute to TV icon and pioneer Norman Lear -- the groundbreaking producer best known for creating All in the Family, Sanford and Son, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, Good Times and many others, and changing the way television took on hot-button issues.

Every year, millions of Jews mark Yom Kippur, Judaism's holiest day, fasting for 25 hours while reflecting on the past year and seeking God's forgiveness. Participants break the fast by indulging in assorted traditional and modern dishes. NPR reached out to a handful of chefs, cooks and food fanatics from across the country to assemble a smorgasbord to break the fast after this year's Yom Kippur, which began at sundown Sunday and ends Monday evening.

Matt Bomer Didn't Lose Superman Role Because He's Gay

Collins told Gaydar Radio earlier this month that producers gave Bomer the boot when they found out he was gay. "They said, 'No, no, we can't cast you,'" the best-seLling author said. "The reason he didn't get cast was because he was gay." However, a source tells me Bomer's sexuality had nothing to do with it. "Matt was Brett's Superman," the source says. "He would never have not cast Matt because he's gay.
