Plans will be discussed about building 10 new houses across the old line at Chuley Road - the plan is reccommended for approval.  But Friends of Ashburton station say that's short sighted and the National Park Authority have not listened to their campaign which they claim has fallen on deaf ears, resulting in a few minor changes.

The cast of The Brittas Empire are reuniting later for the reopening of Ringwood Health and Leisure Centre, where the 90s sitcom was filmed. Chris Barrie, Pippa Haywood and other cast members will be there. The centre's had an 11-week refurb. Improvements to the council-run centre include new lighting, better air conditioning, a dedicated indoor cycling studio with the ability to provide virtual classes, an extended gym with brand-new equipment, and general updating to the centre.

The Mindy Project creator celebrated her dad Avu Chokalingam by posting a picture of him with her two children Katherine, 5, and Spencer, 2. "My dad shows up," she captioned her Instagram post. "He was the one who drove me from the hospital after both my kids were born. To this day, he comes to the house at least once a day to play with the kids, take them to the farmers market, pick them up from school, or walk Spencer around the block in my son's precious blue toddler car.
