Voiceover artist Tony Pope died Feb. 11 of an arterial rupture during heart surgery at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank. He was 56.
Born in Cleveland, Pope came to Los Angeles in 1973 and worked on hundreds of films and television shows, including “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “Back to the Future.”
He was the voice of Goofy for Disney for more than 11 years. He also performed the revised voices of the Cheshire Cat and the King of Hearts in Disneyland’s Alice in Wonderland ride.
