Original “Mean Girls” star Lindsay Lohan is upset about a joke in the rebooted movie musical that references the term “fire crotch,” which was infamously associated with Lohan after socialite Brandon Davis made crude comments about the actor’s body in a 2006 viral video.
“Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” the star’s representative Leslie Sloane told The Messenger.
In the new “Mean Girls,” Megan Thee Stallion (playing herself) shows support for Cady (Lohan’s original character, now played by Angourie Rice) by saying, “We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!” Lohan took the joke as a distasteful reference to the derogatory nickname that haunted her in the mid-aughts. In the expletive-filled video, captured by TMZ, Davis goes off about Lohan while his friend, Paris Hilton, cracks up laughing in the background. At the time, Hilton’s rep attempted to distance her from the tabloid scandal.

Lohan returned to “Mean Girls” as the moderator of the Mathletes Championship, a climactic surprise cameo that drew thunderous applause at the film’s New York premiere. Variety exclusively reported that the actor was paid about $500,000 for a half day of work on the movie. Lohan flew in from Dubai to walk the red carpet at the Jan. 8 premiere.
“I remember the feeling when I learned Lindsay was going to be a part of it. Everyone was so happy — there was a special energy that day,” co-director Samantha Jayne told Variety. Her directing partner Arturo Perez Jr. added of the air-tight cameo, “It was very NDA-heavy and only on a need-to-know basis. I think it had sprinkled to some of the cast. I actually do remember a couple people snuck in that day, now that I’m thinking of it.”
2024’s “Mean Girls,” a movie adaptation of the Broadway musical based on the 2004 comedy film, reigned over the box office during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, bringing in $33.2 million from 3,791 theaters.
