'Shameless' star Cameron Monaghan has a new girlfriend, Lauren Searle. Fans are heartbroken that Ian and Mickey aren't dating in real life, but here's the scoop on the new relationship.

2 min readContrary to what fans might think, Shameless‘ star Cameron Monaghan, who portrays Ian, is not dating Mickey (Noel Fisher) in real life. The two popular TV show co-stars are close friends, but not lovers. Instead, the Gotham actor is newly dating model Lauren Searle.

Before his relationship with Searle, Monaghan had two other public relationships — one with a Shameless co-star. He dated Ruby Modine from October 2016 to March 2017. She portrayed Lip Gallagher’s (Jeremy Allen White) love interest, Sierra, at the time. However, the relationship didn’t last long — only five short months.
Then in September 2017, Monaghan went public with his relationship with actor and model Peyton R. List. The pair met on the set of the Anthem of a Teenage Prophet. E! News reported their breakup in January of 2019 with a cozy photo of the two in Disneyland together.
Monaghan and Searle began dating sometime in 2020
Not much is known about Monaghan and Searle’s relationship, but it started sometime in 2020. The first clue that fans had about the relationship was when Searle posted a series of photos to her Instagram stories of the two hiking together. According to CelebSuburb, she shared the images in September 2020, but fans believe they began dating several months earlier.
Searle works for Vision LA and Heros Model, two of the top fashion and beauty agencies. She began modeling while in high school.
Monaghan made the relationship Instagram official on Oct. 7, 2020, with a racy picture. In the photo, taken through a tent where the two might have stayed the night before, he is on top of his girlfriend. In the next image, he’s kissing her.
A few days later, Searle shared a photo of a hand holding dipping sauce for her with the caption, “First fried pickle courtesy of my personal sauce holder and lover.” She tagged Monaghan as the sauce holder.
The couple also comments on the other’s posts pretty often, with cute things like, “my kinda guy.”
The relationship was still going strong in December 2020
On Dec. 17, 2020, Searle posted a series of photos shot by Monaghan for a paid partnership advertising the SKIMS clothing line.
“@skims boyfriend collection shot by @cameronmonaghan,” she captioned the photo.
Monaghan was quick to respond to the post.
“Oooh, thanks for the photo credit,” he began. “(even if you did crop your toes out 😉)”
Later in December, Monaghan commented on another one of Searle’s photos, “what a woman.”
Since the two are working in LA, fans hope to catch a glimpse of their relationship when things begin to return to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic. The paparazzi hasn’t snag any photos of the two together, yet. Hopefully pictures are on the horizon.
