The product is available in seven shades to suit various skin tones, and No. 2 was the ideal match for me. The bottle is signature Charlotte – glass with a luxe gold lid. The wand applicator is similar to a doe foot lipgloss, only bigger, and I used it to apply the product directly to my face and then blended using either a sponge or my fingers.

As the product is so multi-purpose, you can use it in various ways. I started by applying it on its own, all over my face. It was so gloriously glowy, I almost passed out.

I actually don't know how she's done it. The product didn't look shimmery or glittery. Glow is the only way to describe it. Oh wait, dewy is the other word. But like, seriously dewy. The product is a similar colour to a foundation, but when you blend it out it has a pearlescent, perhaps slightly pink glow to it (for shade No 2 at least).

For my oily forehead it was a bit much, but everywhere else just looked like I'd had the most hydrating facial known to man. I was impressed. It provided enough coverage to reduce redness and blur minor imperfections, but it just looked like my skin. I asked my friends if it looked like I was wearing any makeup, to which they said "no, but your skin looks great".

The second time I tried it, I steered clear of my forehead and chin because I produce a crazy amount of oil in this area and don't need any extra glow there. Instead, I used my usual tinted moisturiser and then applied Hollywood Flawless Filter to the tops of my cheekbones, cupid's bow and brow bone. Now, this was it for me. This was the YASSS! moment.

It gave me glow in all the right places, but I was able to keep my oily areas matte which I prefer. It's not as punchy as a powder highlight, it just gives your skin a natural freshness that would usually take months of zero alcohol and an extremely healthy diet to achieve. So as someone who enjoys a glass of wine and is partial to a big bowl of mac 'n cheese every now and then, I'm glad this product exists.

FINAL VERDICT

This is glowing skin in a bottle. It's not full-coverage, skin still looks like skin, just perfected slightly with an extremely dewy finish. If you like matte skin all over, this glow-getter is not for you. But glossy girls, line up.
