The two are close friends and had an emotional reunion on the show. In the episode, Barrymore and Shields reminisced about their lives.
After talking about various aspects of their lives, Barrymore, being a close friend of Shields, launched into chastising her ex-husband. She remembered watching the documentary where he destroyed his trophies after her FRIENDS appearance. She added that Agassi’s reaction was a huge part of the reason why she did not want to settle down.

Every award that he’s won. Wimbledon, The Open, everything, every important trophy he destroys. I never speak to the fact, but a huge part of why I’m single, I don’t wanna hear it anymore from men.”
Barrymore also went on to talk about how she also went through something similar. The Charlie’s Angels actress herself has been divorced thrice and stated that she never wants to go through marriage again in an interview with People.
“You try to do your job during the day, and you go home at night to a man who doesn’t know how to deal with it, and I do nothing but then empathize with them and try to make it okay for them.”
